Bonjour!
Nous avons installer squash-tm sur debian, et c'est la probleme avec le text en russie lange.
Tout le mot nous voiez comme "?????????".
Qu'est que pouvez-nous faire?

We had the squash-tm installed on debian system, and have encountered a problem with russian titles.
All of them are shown as "??????". Please help, what can we do about this?

Pour la prise en compte des caractères cyrilliques, il est nécessaire que votre base de données soit configurée en UTF8.
Afin d'éviter des problèmes de configurations, nous vous conseillons de créer une nouvelle base de données plutôt que de migrer une base existante.

If you want to use cyrilic letters, you have to configure you database with UTF8.
We suggest you create a new database to avoid any problems with a migration of an existing one.

It is a brand new squash and brand new base. Ant it's in UTF8.
We tried to recreate base and reinstall squash, like, 5 times or so. Nothing changed.

What version of Squash do you use ? Did you try with the last version ?

What database do you use ? In which version ?

Squash TM v1.12.2.RELEASE
Mysql 5.5.47 InnoDB

Can you check if every table has a collation in UTF8 ?
Where are you typing your text ? In the description of a test case ?
Can you send us the text that doesnt work ?

tables was in different encoding, but changing it to utf8_general_ci and restarting squash didn't help.

0- After changing tables to UTF8, did you delete the felix-cache repository ? It keeps some of your database configuration
1- Have you tried to configured your databse when you create it so it is in UTF8 from the begining ?
2- Can you try with the embedded database in Squash and see if it works ?

0 - the first time no. now have tried, and it didn't help - we still have this issue.
1 - it was created with UTF-8 parameters (mysql> CREATE DATABASE squashtm DEFAULT CHARACTER SET utf8 DEFAULT COLLATE utf8_general_ci;)
2 - can you give a hint how to do it correctly so we can manage to change it back occasionally?

also tried to change to cp1251_general_cs - just in case, but it didn't work either.
