Feature Request: Drag and Drop support for image uploads

Message par lia_corral »

Hello Squash TM team and community,

I'm a QA tester using Squash TM v11.0.1.RELEASE and I'd like to suggest
implementing drag and drop functionality for uploading images and screenshots.

THE PROBLEM:
Currently, when documenting test cases, execution results, or reporting
defects, I need to click the upload button and navigate through the file
explorer every single time I want to attach a screenshot. This is very
tedious and significantly slows down the testing workflow.

THE SUGGESTION:
Please add drag and drop support so we can simply drag images from our
desktop or file explorer directly into Squash TM text fields and attachment
areas. This is a standard feature in virtually every modern web application
in 2026 (Jira, Slack, GitHub, Notion, etc. all support it).

USE CASES:
- Attaching evidence screenshots to test execution steps
- Adding images to bug/issue descriptions
- Uploading reference images to test case descriptions
- Pasting screenshots directly from clipboard (Ctrl+V / Cmd+V)

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR:
- User drags an image file from desktop/file explorer onto a text area
or attachment zone in Squash TM
- The image is automatically uploaded and attached
- Bonus: support Ctrl+V / Cmd+V to paste screenshots directly from clipboard

This small improvement would save QA testers a significant amount of time
every day and greatly improve the user experience.

Does anyone else feel the same way? Please support this request!

Thank you for considering this improvement.

Best regards.

Hello,

SquashTM is changing its text editor starting with version 14. It will be possible to drag and drop images from a file explorer.
In addition, the current editor allows you to copy an image from the clipboard using keyboard shortcuts.

Best regards,
Élise, SquashTM Team.
